A live-in nanny works full/part time hours, they live with your family in your home or they are provided with a separate flat. Live in nannies can be the most flexible option for some families, you may include a couple of night's babysitting during the week, they are available early morning, which works well if you are on shift work.

Live-in Nanny Expectations

• Will have their own bedroom and usually their own bathroom or this can be shared with the children. It's important for a live in nanny to have their own space (maybe a TV, computer etc).
• A live-in nanny may have her own car or be provided with a car to transport children when out and about. If the nanny uses her own car for work purposes, she is reimbursed for fuel/mileage. 
• A live-in nanny usually earns a lower rate than a live-out nanny, in order to cover her accommodation/board and food expenses.
